Dancing On Ice 8th Elimination Odds

Is it me or are this years Dancing On Ice celebrities inferior to those of the past few years? Although we witness three winner possibilities in Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas and Gareth Thomas, I doubt any could match the skating talents of Matthew Wolfenden, Jorgie Porter, Sam Attwater, Laura Hamilton or even Chico.

In previous years DOI viewing figures have fallen dramatically however, this series they are still falling but at a slower rate. On Sunday night 6.5 million tuned in to the Dancing On Ice performance show yet only 5 million turned on for the result show.

There are only three weeks left until the Dancing On Ice final and apart from a chuckle at dear Mr Pasquale, I haven’t been over impressed. There is talk that there will not be another series of DOI as even though six million is a huge viewing audience, Sunday night TV slots are prime and should be raking in more.

Many of the reality TV shows seem to be faced with declining viewer numbers so are we getting bored? We’re certainly not bored with Strictly Come Dancing which continues to flourish but I’m sure if we didn’t have eccentric and lovable or highly talented celebrities in Strictly, the same decline in numbers would exist there also.

This years line-up for Dancing on Ice didn’t read brilliant on paper from the start with only Joe Pasquale, Keith Chegwin and the Olympians pricking my interest. Now Joe and Keith have been eliminated and Luke Campbell appears to be too arrogant to take criticism we are left with Samia (I can’t) Ghadie, Moody Matt Lapinskas, Gareth Thomas and Beth Tweddle. There is no real ‘pazazz’ in this series and I’m not really surprised the viewing figures are in decline.

Dancing On Ice odds predict that Luke Campbell will be the next to leave the competition with Samia Ghadie odds close behind. The Gymnastic Olympian and ex Eastenders star Matt Lapinskas are predicted to be almost neck and neck to take the Dancing On Ice title with Beth Tweddle odds standing at 10/11 and Matt Lapinskas odds at 6/5.

Dancing On Ice 4th Elimination Odds

Last weekend we saw the Dancing on Ice duel it out on the ice to see who would face the public vote and further more, the Dancing On Ice skate-off.

The celebrities were paired off according to their skating abilities. Once the skating pair had performed, Dancing On Ice judges Ashleigh Roberts, Karen Barber, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins chose which of the two would face the public vote.

The concept sounds good yet with this process the celebrity with the least skating ability doesn’t necessarily leave the competition and that’s exactly what happened.

Matt Lapinskas was paired with Gareth Thomas, Luke Campbell shared the ice with Samia Ghadie, Beth Tweddle skated alongside Oona King, Shane Ward and Anthea Turner took to the ice together and finally Joe Pasquale partnered up with Keith Chegwin.

Gareth, Luke, Oona, Shane and Joe all found themselves facing the public vote to see who would perform in the skate-off. When the phone lines closed it was revealed Oona and Gareth would dance for survival in the Skate-off.

Gareth is one of the strongest skaters in the competition and it was obvious he would be going nowhere. Poor Oona must have known her time was up prior to the skate-off. I appreciate there are time restraints on the program but I’m not sure this concept works when one of the stronger skaters see himself in the skate-off.

This weekend all nine remaining celebrities will skate independently and Dancing on Ice odds predict Keith Chegwin will be eliminated after being in the skate-off with Joe Pasquale. Joe may not be a great skater but he is the only celebrity to bring any humour to the competition so I would not be surprised if he avoided the skate-off once again.

Matt Lapinskas is still bookies favourite for the win and it’s not hard to see why. Matt has a natural ability and no fear on the ice. Beth Tweddle odds show she is second favourite.

The next episode of Dancing on Ice will be televised on Sunday the 27th January, so be sure to tune in and see who will be the next celebrity to be eliminated.

Dancing On Ice 3rd Elimination Odds

Last weekend Lauren Goodger returned to The Only Way Is Essex when she was the second celebrity to leave Dancing On Ice 2013.

This weekend the remaining contestants will double up in the return of The Duel. The celebrities will be matched up in pairs for the skating performance. They will be scored separately but the bottom in each paring will face the public vote for the third Dancing On Ice eviction.

Joe Pasquale odds predict he could be the next out of the competition followed by Anthea Turner odds however, I think despite Joe’s lack of skating skills, his personality will keep him in the competition a little while longer.

Now all the celebrities have made their debut ice dance we can get a better idea of where the real talent lies. Matt Lapinskas and Gareth Thomas seem to be at the top of the game while Olympians Beth Tweddle and Luke Campbell have real potential as does Oona King.

Keith Chegwin, Shane Ward and Joe and Anthea although enthusiastic, have a long way to go if they wish to remain in the Dancing On Ice show.

Dancing On Ice 2nd Elimination Odds

Last weekend we witnessed Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas, Shayne Ward, Samia Ghadie, Pamela Anderson and Keith Chegwin make their debut on the ice. Keith and Pamela found themselves in the Dancing On Ice skate-off with Pamela leaving the competition.

This weekend Luke Campbell, Lauren Goodger, Gareth Thomas, Anthea Turner, Joe Pasquale and Oona King will take to the ice but what are bookies odds predicting about the elimination?

Ex rugby player is least likely to leave the show as Gareth Thomas odds are the longest at 25/1. Anthea Turner odds predict she will leave the competition after her debut ice dance, her odds stand at 2/1. As we don’t really know what her skating skills are like at present, one can only presume her elimination odds are short due to her public persona. Whiter than white Turner fell out of public favour when she got herself involved with married man Grant Bovey. He subsequently went back to his wife before leaving her for a second time. Turner and Bovey married in 2000 and it was reported their wedding cost a staggering £150,000 which was funded by OK! magazine.

According to the Dancing on Ice 2nd elimination odds Oona King could very well find herself in the skate-off with Anthea, her odds stand at 9/4.

During last weekend’s Dancing On Ice show I was alarmed at how harsh new Judge Ashley Roberts scored the celebrities and wondered as to what credence she had to be judging at all. Ashley seriously came to light in the UK after becoming runner-up on the UK version of 2012 I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here where the public fell in love with this fun loving, kind hearted singer from the Pussycat Dolls. I understand she knows all about performance and in the intro that’s what she said she would be looking for, yet she marked low even when a performance was remarkable considering it was their first.

Take Matt Lapinskas, he seems to have taken to skating like a duck to water, both Robin Cousins and Karen Baber gave him a 7, yet Ashley matched the score of 5 given by Jason Gardiner. Maybe Ashley doesn’t want to be seen as a push over in her new role.

Jason Gardiner and Karen Barber seem have got through their first judging week in one piece but it was plain to see that Karen was chomping at the bit every time Jason made a negative comment or gave a low score. I doubt they will get through the whole series without some kind of confrontation.

DOI Pamela Anderson paid £1000 per Second

It has been alleged that Pamela Anderson earned £150,000 for her participation in the UK’s Dancing On Ice. ITV were pleased as punch bagging the US blonde bombshell for this season of Dancing On Ice and believed she would draw in the viewers to pump up their failing ratings. The TV channel also paid out for first class air tickets and a luxury pad for Pamela and her other half.

Pamela lasted just one week and is alleged to have earned £1000 per second for her one performance on the ice. When celebrities are approached for the program they are offered a sum of money regardless of whether they last one week or make their way to the Dancing On Ice final.

Although the press have made much about the £1000 per second, it hasn’t been taken in to consideration the months she has spent training.

Pamela found herself in the DOI skate-off with Keith Chegwin when the public neglected to see her potential. Unfortunately after a costume malfunction and a stumble on the ice while preforming in the skate-off, Dancing On Ice judges unanimously voted her off the show.

Pamela wasn’t by far the worst ice skater in this series but it appears the voting public were not over enamoured with the Baywatch beauty.
