The clock is ticking towards the great Eastenders revelation, Who Killed Lucy Beale?
When bookies opened their odds funeral director Les Coker was favourite, the theory being his business was failing. Theories and bookies odds were fueled by his involvement in the fake funeral of Nick Cotton.
The menacing trailer played on BBC at the time shows Jane, Ian, and Peter Beale plus friend Lauen Branning and her father Max and Denise Fox all as potential killers.
Max Branning had been have a relationship with Lucy and Lauren's on off friendship with the deceased had suffered.
Ian Beale was frustrated by his daughters attitude to him after his breakdown while Peter always played second fiddle to his demanding twin sister. Jane, long suffering wife of Ian had endured many a conflict with the young entrepreneur as had Denise Fox who was the current partner of Ian so all have motive.
Denise Fox odds are running at 11/2 predicting her second favourite for doing the dirty deed while boyfriend of Abi Branning, Jay Brown odds are hanging jointly with Ian Beale odds at 6/1.
In August this year the BBC released CCTV footage of Lucy Beale's last bus trip to Walford Common where she was murdered. As Lucy exit's the bus she seems to recognize someone who gets off the bus behind her. The person was wearing a distinctive beanie hat which was later seen on Jay's head.
Is this a bluff on the part of the BBC to keep us off the scent or is Jay actually the killer of Lucy Beale?
Let's not forget in September we witnessed a scene where Albert Square's nut job Ben Mitchell ordered Jay Brown to bury Lucy's mobile and purse. Ben told Jay never to tell anyone what they had done. Ben Mitchell odds stand at 8/1.
After months and months of speculation bookies odds will close on 31st December 2014 at 20.00 GMT when the killer will be revealed on the popular BBC soap.
