Much has been made this year of whether foreign acts should be allowed to audition for BGT. Each year acts from abroad have been welcomed in to the competition but this year there are more than any other year.
Popular forum polls are asking people to vote on this subject and the general consensus is ‘does it matter as long as they have talent’. KattyKit added to a thread on digital spy by saying ‘I don't really care where contestants come from. As others have said its called "Britain's got talent" not Britain gave birth to talent.’
Others disagree especially on twitter where numerous people tweeted their negative thoughts claiming Britain’s Got Talent should be open for British acts or at the very least, acts that reside in the UK.
Many fans of the show were mesmerised by the Hungarian shadow act Attraction and this is reflected in Attraction odds for the win. Currently Attraction is bookies favourite with odds of 2/1.
The dance duo Martin and Marielle are from Holland and admit they have done plenty in Holland but wanted to explore the possibilities in other areas of the world. It has been reported the flexible dancing duo want to beat the Brits in their own country. This statement will not go down well with the British voting public. At the moment Martin and Marielle odds stand at 16/1 for the win.
All in all, without the acts from abroad, BGT 2013 probably would not have the diversity we see week after week in the Britain’s Got Talent audition shows. So are some of the general public right in their barrage against foreign acts entering BGT?
Well, here in the UK we operate on a free speech basis and thankfully we are allowed to have our own opinions. This won’t stop some people complaining and the subject will be spoken about often but the public will have their final say when it comes to who win’s BGT 2013.
