of France is set face the British Number 1 Andy Murray in the 3 rd round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai China.
Earlier this summer the duo met in the 2nd round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati Ohio and Murray won that clash in 3 tight sets.
Chardy however had some impressive wins the week before as he beat Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Verdasco to reach the final of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Toronto Canada where he eventually lost to the world number 2 Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
Djokovic went on to beat the former world number 1 Roger Federer of Switzerland in the US Open semi final in 5 sets 5-7 6-1 5-7 6-2 7-5.
Djokovic however lost in the final in 4 sets to the world number 1 Rafael Nadal 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2 it was a 1st US Open title for Nadal.
