Robredo started the year in fine style by helping his country win the mixed Hopman Cup in Perth beating Great Britain in the final Robredo beat Andy Murray in the final singles match 1-6 6-3 6-4.
Robredo has won one Masters title on clay in his career that was back in 2006 in Hamburg when he managed to beat Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic in the final.
Robredo will not be the favourite for the French Open however if he finds his best form he is capable of having a great run in Paris this year.
World Number 2 and 4 time Champion Rafael Nadal will be the favourite to win the French Open for a 5th time this year Nadal has won 3 Clay court Masters 1000 titles this year.
