World Number 2 Rafael Nadal is the strong favourite to regain the Mens French Open 2010
title in Paris over the next couple of weeks.
The Spaniard won the French Open on his debut back in 2005 and he won the title every year until 2008.
However last year Nadal suffered a shock defeat in the 4th round to Robin Soderling of Sweden losing the match in 4 sets.
Soderling went on to reach the final but was beaten in straight sets by the world number 1 Roger Federer.
That victory was Federer’s 1st at the French Open and it completed the career Grand Slam for the Swiss maestro.
Federer then won Wimbledon a few weeks later which was his 6th title at SW19 and saw him complete the career Grand Slam.
At his best Federer is capable of beating anyone in the world on any surface and he will be confident he can defend his title in Paris.
