came up just short in her 3rd round match against 4 time former champion Justin Henin at the French Open in Paris.
Henin went into the match as a strong favourite and she won the 1st set 6-2 last night however the Russian hit back and won the 2nd set 6-3 before bad light stopped play for the day.
When play resumed today it was Sharapova who was out of the blocked faster break serve and taking a 2-0 lead she had chances to get a double break but could not convert and in the end Henin fought back to win the match in 3 sets.
The French Open is the one major to elude Sharapova so far but she will be very encouraged by her form in this match ahead of Wimbledon which starts in 3 weeks time.
Sharapova won Wimbledin aged just 17 in 2004 beating Serena Williams in straight sets in the final.
