will be looking to repeat some of the success that he has enjoyed in Rome in the past and have some good results at the Masters 1000 event this week.
In 2008 Wawrinka enjoyed the best run in a Masters event of his career as he beat Andy Murray and reached the final where he lost to the World Number 2 Novak Djokovic in 3 sets, Wawrinka did actually win the 1st set in that encounter.
Wawrinka enjoyed a lot of success in 2008 he teamed up with the world number 1 Roger Federer to win the Gold medal in doubles at the Olympic games in Beijning, China.
If Wawrinka can find his best form then he is capable of beating anyone in the world, last year he enjoyed a win against Federer in Monte Carlo.
Federer has never won the title on Rome and he will look to put that right this week.
