Former World Number 1 Andy Roddick
Roddick has decided to pull out of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Rome this week citing personal reasons as the reason for his withdrawal.
Last year Roddick missed the Rome event as it was the same week as his wedding.
In 2008 Roddick reached the Semi Finals in Rome where he was eventually beaten by Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland.
Roddick will hope to play the Masters event in Madrid the following week but he will need to be on his best form if he is to pull off an upset and go all the way and win the title.
Last year Roddick reached the Final of Wimbledon for the 3rd time in his career in the Semis he beat Andy Murray in 4 tight sets however the American lost 16-14 in the 5th set to the world number 1 Roger Federer.
Roddick will hope that he can win Wimbledon for the 1st time this year.
