World Number 2 crushed Roger Federer to win his 4th French Open title in as many years in 2008, Nadal went into the event as a strong faovurite having won the Masters titles in Monte Carlo and Hamburg, beating Federer in both events in the final.
Nadal broke Federer 3 times up front and went on to seal the 1st set 6-1 and at this stage the Spaniard appeared to be in total control of the match.
The 2nd set was marginally tighter but Nadal still came through winning it 6-3.
The 3rd set proved to be something of a procession as Nadal came through and won it 6-1 6-3 6-0 to win his 4th French Open title in 4 years and to maintain his unbeaten record at Roland Garros.
Nadal went on to win at Wimbledon for the 1st time in his career 3 weeks later where once again he managed to beat Federer in the title match.
